What's In A Color?

What's your favorite color? Did you know that your favorite color says something about yourself? The color of your preference can reveal a lot about you. With that note, it's time to get to know more about your favorite color at tanungin ang sarili...ako nga ba ito? Ikaw, ano'ng kulay mo?

Red (Pula) - Kulay ng galit, tapang at himagsikan. Preferred by most males as it symbolizes masculinity and is usually chosen by extroverts. In China, it denotes prosperity and joy. It can also mean confidence and passionate love at kung gusto mong mag stand-out sa crowd wear something red!

Lovers of beauty like this color and it is sometimes associated with silence and femininity. Pink is also the color of universal love.

Brown (Kayumanggi) - Those who picks this color are conventional and orderly. In some negative connotation it's the color of lazy people. The color of the earth is also brown at ito ang ipinagmamalaking kulay ng mga Pinoy (pertaining to the color of their complexion). It can mean the material side of life.

Orange (Kahel) - The power color and one of the healing colors. It can stimulate enthusiasm, creativity, youthfulness, and even appetite. Vitality with endurance can also be its meaning. People who likes orange are usually flamboyant, vibrant, and energetic as well.

Gold (Ginto) - This is actually one of my favorite colors aside from blue, silver, pink, and white. Ang kulay ng kayamanan at magarbong kaharian. Color of royalties and kingdom. It also symbolizes wisdom, health, and optimism.

It signifies intellectuality and brightness. Alive and sunny ang taong mahilig sa kulay dilaw. It symbolizes joy, happiness, and wisdom as well. Individuals with high intellect prefer this color.

Green (Luntian/Berde) - Life, nature, well-being, fertility, healing. Green is the restful color if you want to rest your eyes and refresh your sight take a look at something that is of pure green and it will relax you after a while, amazing isn't it? You can gaze at the colored image at the left now if you want to. It is also regarded as a safe color like if you don't know what color to use, try using green. It can also mean closeness to the environment. Often chosen by well balanced people and it is the color of money and life force. Green jade is a sacred stone in Asia.

Blue (Bughaw) - Often favored by most people because of its tranquility, peace, spirituality, and youthfulness. It also denotes inspiration, sincerity, and friendship. It is also the color of high ideals and has a soothing effect. Often regarded as the communication color.

Purple (Lila) - Color of magic and mystery. Sometimes it may also be the color of royalty and good judgment. Kung gusto mong magmeditate surround yourself with purple and it will help you achieve peace of mind. The color of those seeking for spiritual fulfillment. It is the ideal color favored by most artists.

It is the color of increasing personal thoughts, profound insights, and instant undertakings.

White (Puti) - Purity and cleanliness signifies white. The color of holiness, kindness, and symbolizes a virgin. In some countries like China, people wear white in funerals but in most cases brides were a white-colored gown during their weddings. May ibang nagsasabi na hindi naman daw talaga tunay na kulay ang puti, it's just a manifestation of the presence of all colors - the complete energy of light. It represents truth and openness in other places, it can give clarity as it is regarded as a color with cold quality.

Black (Itim) - While white reveals, this color conceals. It is the most misunderstood color. Signfies death, stability, earth, and elegance as professionals wear black in formal gatherings. Along side white, it is also not considered as a color - but rather the absence of all colors. The color of mystery and sometimes of evil. In most countries, they wear black in funerals para maipakita ang kanilang pagdadalamhati, pakikiramay, at matinding kalungkutan.

Sorry guys and gals for those of you who prefer this color, narrow minded at loner daw ang inyong mga ugali. On the other hand, it also means dependability, responsibility, and conservative practicality so cheer up!

Silver (Pilak) - The futuristic metallic color. Represents the color of the new millennium. Gusto ko ang kulay na ito because it can make you classy, modern, and stylish. One of the sparkling colors that gives a glitter in your life. Often favored by individuals in touch with technology a.k.a. "techno" people. It also symbolizes serenity and joy, to most women it is being associated with the female essence of life.

Welcome The Newest Koreanovela To Hit The Philippines By Storm!

Coffee Prince
It's already out on Philippine television! Currently being aired in the prime time block of GMA Channel 7 and has gained a lot of nice reactions and feedbacks to many viewers. Achieving high ratings so far on its evening time slot!

A lot of Koreanovela fanatics are going gaga with this one, bringing humor, entertainment, and other interesting stuff every night. It has become an evening habit to watch this funny and outrageous Korean Drama. It's so addictive, I think I'm going to add it on my top Koreanovela list sooner or later. The question is...where to put it? What rank???

The life of Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is not easy; she works many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark, except, how would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"?

Many thanks to Drama Wiki for that synopsis...

Yup! That's her alright! Yoon Eun Hye (Andie Go in the Philippine dub) is really a stunning young lady with very charming appeal. This is her real appearance by the way, she's not a lesbian ya know!Isn't she adorable?

The 7 Steps to Change Anything in Your Life

1. Make it your intention to change and let go of your attachment to a time frame.

Intention is the starting place of all change. You must consciously choose to change. Letting go of a time frame may be a little bit harder to do, but it is quite necessary. Expecting it to happen in a certain time frame will only block the energy flow and slow down your delivery. If you really choose to change, you will. So be easy on yourself, you have already begun the process.

2. Focus on what you do have that you are grateful for; qualities in yourself, your relationships, the things that you have.
Gratitude is a very powerful tool for creation. When you are really and truly grateful, you will feel it. Gratitude feels good, and good feelings are an indication that you are on the right path, that you are connected to God. You will be more creative and more in the flow when you are feeling good.

3. Focus on what you do want and how it will make your life better.
Focusing on how your desire will or will not come is rarely useful. This often builds resistance because in most cases you have no idea of how your desire is going to come to you. The worry that comes with the "how" of it, including the limited channels in which you believe it can come through, limit how it can come to you. The more you learn to focus and shift your energy the quicker things will manifest in your life.

4. Focus on memories of good times.
Focusing on memories of good times will change how you feel. Go ahead try it now. Think of a rejuvenating vacation you took, or a really juicy romantic experience, or remember the lovely times spent with children. Please take just a moment right now and really try it. Really it only takes a few seconds. Stop reading, close your eyes, imagine and remember.

5. Take action in a direction that feels good.
Follow your best feeling option in this now moment of time. Sometimes petting the cat, walking the dog, playing with the kids, or going to the beach is the best action. What are the options that you can see right now? If there are none, wait, enjoy whatever you have that you can enjoy. Don’t worry. When you have options feel your way through them. Think about how it is to follow a certain path, then feel how it feels. Then think about the other options you have in the same way, and feel how it feels! Then take the path that feels the best. Your feelings are an awesome guide. They will never steer you wrong. Feelings can change, and when they do it is time to re-evaluate your thoughts and the path you are on.

6. Have faith in Life, faith in God…have faith that the next moment will take care of itself.
Remember the next moment will take care of itself. It always does. There is a saying that goes, “Today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.” Now with all I teach about deliberate creation, and how our thoughts create, isn’t it reassuring to know that it keeps turning out? Even though you have been worrying, it still turns out. How much better will it turn out if you stop worrying? If you do not know the answer to your problems or concerns forget about them for a while.

7. Release fear and objections raised in your mind by focusing on steps 2,3,4 & 6.
You have heard it said that “NOW” is the only time that exists. Well it is true, and life is a series of “now” moments strung together. This is why it is necessary to repeat this list of steps over and over. Your focus on the things that make you feel good opens you up to receive the guidance that comes in step 5. Often you have a number of shifts to make before you become a match to your desire and your goal fully manifests. So it becomes a loop of doing all of these steps many times to complete the entire journey.

Fear and objections will come. The bigger the goal, the bigger the fear and objections will be. Don’t worry that you have to repeat steps 2,3,4,& 6. Don’t worry that step 5 will come around again. It’s just the never-ending journey of life.

My Favorite Asianovelas

Meteor Garden paved the way of several Asianovelas conquering the Philippine TV today. They coined the word Asianovelas - pertaining to soap operas made by Asian countries (mostly Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan) that are televised usually with romance/love as their focal point. I also love watching this type of shows depending on the story.

Here's my list of The Best Asianovelas:

1. Jewel In The Palace - Beauty with substance! Words to describe Dae Jang Geum (Lee Young-Ae) in this telenovela based on Korean history. I highly recommend it to all ages, not only for those who loves cooking and medicine, you will definitely learn a lot from this masterpiece. You can have additional knowledge in Korean cuisine & even medicine but most importantly, the attitude of Jang Geum as a determined, persevering, knowledgable & kind-hearted servant of the palace is a good epitome of a lady which is already very rare in our time. All in one story and character!

2. Lovers In Paris - I found uniqueness and spontaneity in the rich-versus-poor love story of Tae-Young and Ki-Joo. Excellent storyline with fine script, characters (all of them actually!) have superb performances including the lovely scenes from Paris definitely make this Asianovela a remarkable and must-see Asian soap with no "kabaduyan" and not being cheesy!

3. Love Story In Harvard - It was quite entertaining for me at first 'coz I love watching films/programs with an academic touch especially having classroom and dormitory scenes but as the story progresses the level of drama & storyline also shoots up. After the Harvard years as they become grown-ups, complications and conflicts also took place that added up a spice in the story, not just your ordinary show. It also ended up in a they-lived-happily-ever-after kind of thing unlike some romance stories with tragic endings.

The rest are:

4. All About Eve
5. Endless Love 1 - Autumn In My Heart
6. Jumong
7. War Of Money
8. Over The Green Fields
9. A Rosy Life
10. Irene
11. My Name Is Kim Sam Soon
12. Love Of The Condor Heroes
13. Couple Or Trouble
14. Dalja's Spring
15. Coffee Prince

I just noticed, Koreans are very good actors and actresses huh?!

Space Sheriffs - Sharivan, Shaider, Gavan

What a nice pic to have as a wallpaper!

On the lighter side, I'm also a fan of super sentai/kamen rider/metal hero Japanese stuff so I decided to post the pic of 3 magnificent space sheriffs (Pulis Pangkalawakan). In case you want to know, Super Sentai are groups of Japanese colored fighters na nakamaskara at sumikat in the early 80's here in the Philippines, they also became popular in Brazil, France and of course Japan. Bioman, Maskman, Turbo Rangers, Fiveman, Jetman are the examples. Power Rangers also but it was televised in the Philippines based on the US remake, in Japan meron din silang ganun.

Kamen Riders? Diyan nabibilang sina Masked Rider Black (remember the astigin na si Robert Akizuki?) at RX Black (again ipinalabas ito sa Pinas through the US version but in Japan they also have their own), actually if you are in Japan there are a bunch of Kamen/Masked Riders just like Ultraman, they have an Ultraman family as in every year iba ibang klase ng Ultraman ang sumusulpot on Japan TV, not to mention the existence of Magma Man na ipinalabas din sa Pinas. Sa Ultraman ang natatandaan ko lang na ipinalabas are Ultra Q, Ultraman Dyna & Ultraman Tiga (who is also my favorite among the Ultra clan!).

GMA failed to get the rights of Shaider in Japan through Toei Company so they just revised it unlike Marimar, Mexico approved the purchasing of rights so they used Marimar as the title of the top-rating show. Sina Machine Man at Janperson ay mga metal heroes din na ipinalabas around early 90's na yata if I'm not mistaken.

The influence of foreign TV culture is still evident in our country today. Mapa telenovela man yan ng Mexico, Korea, China o Taiwan, game show/reality program ng America, hanggang sa mga cartoon robots (Voltes V, Daimos, Mazinger Z), Manga serye (Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango) at Anime (Dragon Ball, Sailormoon, Ghost Fighter, Magic Knight Rayearth and Slam Dunk to name a few) ng Japan. One thing is for sure, as long as there will be kids and even the young at heart, like me, na patuloy na sumusuporta sa mga ito the list will go on and on and on....

Hi there folks!

Upon posting this, it's December 19, 2007 - this date is the birth of my own personal blog - Lair of LeiR. I am a Business Administration graduate, major in Marketing Management at Holy Angel University. As of now, I am keeping myself busy in a certain home-based business service.
